Creating Background Assets
Hello All!
Today, yesterday, I continued work on EFA (Eath's Forest Adventure), more specifically I started to work more on making the game more of my own! If you saw any of the other Devlog posts you would've noticed that while in a forest setting, it wasn't really in my style, or matching the style of the tree assets I was making.
Thus I got to work, working on a proper background for the game, and so far I've got ... Something.
I wanted to design something that would repeat, like old school cartoon where the background would just cycle, a little homage to my area of study.
Although the above image didn't quite work out the way I hoped when placed in the game, so I had to go back and make a few changes.
Now for implementing it into the game, I have two options, One is to make it solely a background image, another was to actually have it be the platform Eath walks on. I decided to try the latter first with this being the result:
Not bad, honestly, but I may go back to having the platform separate from the background to avoid the strange seam look, only time will tell!

I really love the new background you've created! It really ties the style and story together more. The one thing I would like to see is more of an indication where we are supposed to jump. I liked how in the previous version you had the ribbon and we could follow that up the trees. I think something that would help the game look less separated by the seam would be if you created foreground elements, like darker trees and bushes.
